I just bought a 96 integra LS with almost 80,000mi. In the future i plan on getting turbo but im wondering if my motor has to much mileage. What should i do to make sure my engine can safely withstand FI? your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

 

Run a compression test, and possible a leak down test. If the numbers are good, go for it. When i Got my LS engine, I had the same thoughts as you since mine had 80000 miles ticking as well. I also went ahead and changed the timing belt and water pump. This is a piece of cake if your engine is already out.

I would start saving your money.have you ever seen a blown piston on a ls with turbo.Plan to install pistons/rods with bearing/block guard and head studs.This will beef up internals to hold quit a bit of boost.
ps don't forget timing belt and water pump.
