Default What are you opinions on this security system?

I went to a place today, and they showed me the Viper 300 HF security system. I told them I just wanted something bare bones, nothing fancy, and this is what they showed me. They said it could be upgraded, and that it had a state of the art shock sensor. The price was 299 CDN (189 US) and I could get a kill switch for 30 CDN (18 US). Is this a good deal? is it the wrong system for me? I have no experience in alarms, and could use some good help, thanks

the price is about right for a normal installation and the Viper 300..isn't HF the older models and their called ESP now? well I'm not familiar w/ canada's availability... I don't know about the state of the art shock sensor.. isn't it just an onboard sensor? or maybe its the standard dual stinger guard... anyway it'll be your bare bone system and a basic (brain under the dash install)... price is about right for what your getting..

That sounds like a basic alarm for $189. You can add all the other features, and find the price to be almost twice as much. That's what I did.

It's good enough for most. It's up to you and your comfort level. Nothing will stop a real pro. You can only do what will make you worry less.

I'm not sure about the "State of the Art" part. But if you want an answer, got for it. I would also add a club or autolock. It's cheap.

I asked another store what they had, and they said I could get a Cifford or Ungo(?) for 189 CDN (120 US). I am not sure, which is the best one? Which name should I go for? are there some to watch out for? I was thinking about a club, but I heard that it could wreck my OMP steering wheel. thanks for the opinions
