Default well i pressure tested my setup today....

well today i presure tested my setup and found some leaks around clamps/couplers...then found leaks around all the bolts that hold the compresser tite...so i put teflon tape on them ,sealed them up....now the only leak i have is around the compresser housing were it mates against the backing plate, its not a big leak but there is air leaking around it,is this normal?...anybody eles find this? is there anyway to fix it?
thanks

There shoudl be a thin o ring on the backplate if you remove the compressor cover.

How exactly did you pressure test everything? Pressurize the turbo's inlet?

There is at least 2 common types of seals that i've seen. A giant o-ring is the newer version that remains 'clockable' for a long time, the other much older type is a flat carbon ring seal. That usually sticks like any other gasket over time, breaks apart, and needs replacing. In this situation, a tiny bit of silicone will work, although the gaskets are all of $3-5 from ebay. You don't have to worry about that relatively small leak, especially since it seals a tad more when hot - but every small amount can help. The leaks that make a big difference are the ones that leak a good 5% or more. That would make your turbo run that much higher in the efficiency map, which is usually bad.

yes i hooked a line from the air compresser and slowly put the psi up...untill i had it up to roughly 25psi on the boost gauge..figured thats high enough, ill never go that high of boost
