Last september i bought an engine that i was told needed some light work done, such as rings and maybe a hone, from evildc2 for 900$.
First, i found the crankshaft was toast. I was okay at first, no big deal and i could handle it. I payed someone 150$ for another crankshaft. Mark that one on the bill. He told me he would replace it with an LS crankshaft, but that was the last time i heard from him. Possibly october or november.
Then when i got to really disassembling the motor, i found that it wasnt the rings that were bad, the ringlands fell out of the cylinders when i pulled the pistons out. Two of the cylinders were excessively scarred. Though i knew i wasnt going to reuse those pistons from the beginning, I'm beginning to feel lied to at this point. Strike 2.
Then the alternator was toast, luckily i was only giving it to a friend so its not really a big deal, a cheap part and i could let it slide even though i was told it would work.
As for the third strike. I never got around to cleaning up the head until last month, and now that the cylinder head has been cleaned its clear that I was just lied to about the condition of this motor. The camshaft bearing surfaces are all destroyed, eaten away by the camshafts.
At this point i dont care what kind of excuses he could come up with. I would like half of my money back. If anyone knows him, please tell him he should probably call me before I get more upset. He has been ignoring my phone calls and messages. Him never answering his phone goes to show that he knows what he has done. Im only asking for half the money, since i was thankfully able to salvage the block.

Wow, that sucks. Ya, it is hard to tell if a motor is good or not by looking at the outside of it. Too bad, People have to lie to make money. Where are all the honest people at?

I wont give his number out because that is just not an honorable thing to do. If there is going to be any kind of justice served it will be on my part.
