I was wondering which accord was the first gen cl 2.2 more like. The 94-97 accord or the 98-2002 accord. Now I ask this because I cam accross some h22 swap mounts but the mounts are 89-93, 94-97, 98-02, and they are acually specific for 2dr's and 4dr's. So I was trying to figure out which accord was closest to this cl. I know the cl came with the same sohc motor the accord came with just not sure if its was the u-lev motor that cam with my 98 accord or was it closer to the 94-97. But in any event if the cl is basically identical to lets say, the 94-97 accord under the hood then I might try and find a 2.2 cl with a 5sp and swap in a h22 but my knowledge of accord swaps isnt that good. So I was hoping to get a answer from one of you

the 1st gen CL is closest to the 94-97 Accord

 

o you know if it came with the same engine as the ex or lx v-tec accords and that engine code I think its like a f20 or something like that thanks

 

from the 94-97 Accords the EX model was the only one to receive the VTEC engine and that engine code is F22B1. And yes, the 1st gen CL 4cyl did use the F22B1 engine.
