Default Trouble With AC

Hello, I have a 1996 honda civic an my Air Conditioner does not work when i have it on the first or second setting. But it works fine when i have it on the 3rd and 4th. What could be the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

ive seen this problem in toyotas caused by a bad heater relay. switch it with another relay to see if that is happening...also could be a servo problem.

If you are talking about the A/C not comming on when blower speed is set to 1 or 2 but the blower itself works then the problem is the blower switch itself, the blower switch is a double polled switch, one set of contacts supplies grounds to the blower motor resistor pack for blower motor speeds, the other contacts supply a ground to the A/C switch, sounds to me like the contacts in position 1 and 2 on the A/C poll are bad. 94

Possible fan speed switch problem. More than likely though its gonna be the resistor for the blower motor. Most vehicles fail safe to high speed only when the resistor goes out.

i agree with the resistor. its on top of the blower assembly.
