whats needed for b16 in 93 teg
ive got a 93 teg and i am going to be doing a b16 soon. I know ...go ls/vtec. I would but the funds arent avaliable right now and i am getting the motor for free pretty much because my motor is sold. Can i use the ls tranny on the b16? Also can i use the cable b16? (89-92)? If so is there anything else i would need.

Yea, u can use the tranny from the B16, in fact that would be better than the B18 because of its gearing. What generation B16 is it? Your car is OBD-1 so you're going to have to make sure you got the right ecu & distributor and other crap. Check out these swap guides off of http://www.g2ic.com ( http://www.g2ic.com/tegtips/engine/15.html ). These should give you a better idea of what you have to do. Hope this helps.

do not go LS/vtec if u plan to go all motor...rod ration on the Ls does not revving past 8000rpm....vtec motor in honda are known for they're higher revving...anyway...use the b16a tranny,,,if u get the cable tranny get a cable to hydro conversion...u have odb1...u should have the grey plug...so yea just get cable to hydro conversion...that's pretty much it...
well there are people out there that will say that ls/vtec is no good for all motor but i would not agree with that statement but either way..Yes any b16a tranny will fit your car..The only differance is the clutchs..I would not even think about getting a hydro conversion as that is just a waste of money..Your motor has a cable tranny and as long as they make a cable tranny for your car i would not even worry about it..After that you can get a 92-93 GSR distributor and try to find yourself one of the listed below ECU's ( all are obd1 vtec ecu's):

Hmmm....... I have a JunIII B16a in my 93 GSR. The swap is pretty easy and you can either use your LS tranny or a B16 cable tranny. Get the B16 tranny because if you complete the swap you will HATE your LS tranny.
isn't the 89-91 b16a cable...and 92-95 b16a2 is hydro...

my 91 b16a came with a Y1 cable tanny with lsd. their is the s1 and i their one other b16 cable tranny.
the Y1 has lsd from the factory. suposed to be the strongest b16 tranny. best for autocross.
