They're 15x6

The only x7's, that I know of, are 16" and above.

whats the size tire you are running right now ? if it's a 15" ( ie 195/55, 205/50, 195/50) already then i doubt you would need to change them.

and yes, the 15" gs/se integra alloys and 15" si civic alloys are all 15x6

Yup, 15x6 will work fine for most tires used by most Honda/Acura cars, including the 195/50-15 tires normally used by a '92-95 Civic EJ1.

Really? My tires are 195/50R15, basically 15x7.

I'm not sure what you mean "basically 15x7". The 15x7 refers to the diameter and width of the wheel, not the tire. And it's measured at the bead, where the inner edge of the tire seats. If you measure the outer edge of the lip of a wheel, it's usually about an inch larger than the nominal dimensions at the bead; for example, on a 15x7 wheel, if you take a tape measure on the outer lip, the diameter will be around 16" and (if there's no tire mounted on it) the width will be around 8". But it's still considered a 15x7 wheel.

Most 195/50-15 tires can be mounted on wheels from 5.5 to 7.0 inches wide, which is why they are just fine on 15x6 wheels.

What are the advantages of a 15x7 rim versus 15x6 when mounted with the same tire size?

Not much. The big difference is looks - and most people would never notice the difference in looks between 15x6 and 15x7. And even among people who would, you'll probably find more people who think that the normal-fit look of 15x6 looks better than the stretched look with 15x7.

For autocross and racetrack use, there's a practical benefit. Some people roll their fenders and put on superwide 225/45-15 tires - R compound track tires, like Hoosiers - for competition use. Tires that size need to be mounted on rims at least 7 inches wide.

But for street use with street tires in street sizes, there's no significant practical advantage.

Damn i didnt know that, i jus figured that a tire that is 7 inches wide would be to big for a rim the is 6 inches wide. Thanx!

If stock was 195/55/15, would 205/50/15 be better for a 15x7 wheel, or is it not even worth the extra weight and change in speedo?

You can use either one; the differences are mostly minor. For example, the change in the speedometer and odometer is 1.6 percent, which is small. Any differences in weight and performance are also likely to be small. About the only difference that's not likely to be small is the availability and price of tires. Some tires come in only one size and not the other. Some tires come in both sizes, and of those, some are cheaper in 195/55 and others are cheaper in 205/50.
