1995 GSR engine smokes under load.
I have a GSR engine swap in my Civic hatch (figured this question belonged in the Integra forum because the engine is from an Integra) and only under load the engine blows blue smoke. I bought the car about a month ago, and noticed it used oil, but just lately after adding another quart, it started smoking worse. I was *told*that the engine has ~90K miles when I bought the car.
Anyway, aside from tearing my engine apart, how do I tell if it's my valve guides or piston rings that are shot? I'd rather not have to rebuild, but does anyone have any special advice that I haven't read a million times? If it matters, the car is my daily driver and I need it to be driveable on pump gas (91 is our "premium") and be reliable, like not need a rebuild for 100k miles.

either they were really hard 90k miles or someone blew some smoke up your a** with that number i would am at the later of the two because my motor has 260k on it all is fine no smokeing and it has had the **** beat out of it the last 110k
i would say find a cheap replacment motor in a junkyard will probly be non vtec and put it in so you can rebuild the gsr then you can turn around and sell your temp motor or buy a cheap motor build it up and run the one you have till it goes pop this is just what i would do

The engine didn't smoke when I bought the car. Damn it.
Ok, I have another car I can drive while I build this engine. Assuming I pick up new pistons, rings, bearings, etc, how much down time are we talking? I may just drop in a B20 or buy another B18C1
