any suggestions on what would make my gsr DA a lil quicker without FI or spray or anything, im looking for somewhat of a noticeable power gain with 1 upgrade, would a cable b16 trans be a significant change from the b17 tranny?
seems like it hits vtec so late in each gear, maybe around 6k, ide like it to be more around 4500-5k, i shift at 3500 no matter what when cruising so im not reallly worried about killing my gas mileage...car is bone tock except for lowering and dc headers

NO without boost u will not get a significant amount of power with just one mod. Without tearing apart your motor the only thing you can really do is throw in a mild cam.

 

ya a cam would probably be your best bet.. any reason for not goin spray or FI?

It hits VTEC late because that is the optimal transition point. B18C1 GSRs hit VTEC at 4400 RPM because they have a dual runner intake manifold. Your B17A1 could benefit from ITR or stage 1 cams.

 

no FI for me because a buddy of mine blew up his supposedly "built" gsr on the way to the track last nov. about a week after dumping mad cash into the head and full turbo kit, theres a time and place and its not neither 1 for me, ide like to chip it, any info on that? dc2 gsr cams WILL or maybe benefit?

 

Don't waste your time with B18C1 cams unless you have them lying around or they are free.

 

i mean im not too against spray just as always felt gay to me on a honda unless its an autox or track car, my buddy had a non vtec dseries eg 4dr that would stomp em1 si's and my cousins ls crx, iono just seems like cheating on the street ha
