Default I got a cage question

Im getting ready to buy a cage. im thinking a 6 or 8 point cage. car wont be any faster than 10.30. I dont want bars to go through the dash at all. i would like to have some front/door bars that go to the area like where the dead pedal goes. Main hoop and rear bars, harness bar. Not sure if this is legal but this is a weekend warrior street car.

Just get a 6pt if you're not planning on going faster than 10.0, and please get it custom bent and TIGed in.

There are no Fab shops around you? Wow where do you live, I might have to start up a new profession in your area.

I would definitly get a cage built and please do not buy a pre-fabbed kit as it will only give you headaches and more than likely you will be disappointed with fitment.

I wish we could run 10's with just a 6pt cage. 10.99+ we need 10pt. 11.49+ 6pt.

You say that now. What about after the crash?

Most of our cars with turbo's run much higher speeds then domistics. Think about your safety, not your wallet.

Redneck Ricer what part of Indiana is Osceola located? I'm located in Indianapolis and I know a few places that will build a cage for you.

You say you only plan on running a 10.30, but what do you anticipate trapping? If over 135mph you will need a certified cage. Some tracks aren't as strict, but you never know when you travel to a new track, plus it's best to have a properly built cage incase you crash.

I've used two 10pt from Ken and the fitment was great. Plus the cage was 90% notched

I used a Competition Engineering kit that you can get basically anywhere short of 7-11 and it was $200.The kit is really a pre bent hoop that fit all right and the rest is a universal kit so really it was alot of work.Def go with the Kens kit.

X2 on the S&W stuff! Seems to work and fit good! Some fitting required as with all "kits"
