96 accord clutch issues
OK i got a 96 accord lx with 190k. I don't know if this clutch has ever been replaced seeing i just purchased the car however the clutch petal seems stiffer than normal and if u try to speed shift the car it just slips. The petal seems to be letting out out the very top... if you barley touch the clutch petal while driving it slips. I was thinking about just putting a new clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing in the car but, should i go ahead and replace the slave and master cylinders? or should i start there before the clutch?

Clutch Disc - (1)
Pressure Plate - (1)
Throw-out Bearing - (1)
In effect the Clutch disc has worn to the point that the Pressure Plate is JUST to the point of loosing clamping force. That's why it releases so high on the pedal travel.
If the clutch fluid looks dirty, brown and cloudy, It might be a good idea to replace both cylinders. The discolored / cloudy fluid indicates water mixed in. This can (and does) corrode the cylinders from the inside.
Have you ever had a Brake Master cylinder fail and your pedal go to the floor?
