prelude rpms drop when I tap throttle
my works 96 ford van does that...got any codes thrown your way? we had 2 but i dont think it what is making it do that. maybe we have the same problem lol
95 civic H22a. Its like I run lean when I tap the gas peddle. The rpms will drop and its just wrong. No codes at the moment, but I have a jdm ecu in right now. I'll stick a domestic ecu in and look for a code too.
It revs perfect all the way to 7k., but rpms drop when I tap on gas from idle.
still looking for ideas..

really? hmm and you have been driving it that way? I really want to take care of it this week. Maybe my tps sensor needs to be adjusted or not.
Have you checked/replaced anything yet?
I just put my cylinder head back on after having the seats fixed. I took the intake and exhaust manifolds off. Now I'm having this problem So Its there somewheres.

yes i mean the car runs better than new i never have any problems with it really but when i just tap it for a quick millisecond it drops rpms for a sec and then go right back to perfect idle
I think I will play with the screw on the throttle cable. Other then that I have no idea. I'll look extra hard for a vacuum leak or what not. I'm gonna put my air boost valve plate back on.
might be normal...
my ITR would do the same thing. You're at idle and you give the throttle a quick stab, no to the floor, just enough to make a difference and the rpm needle dips then raises?
if so it's due to the large t-body/plenum volume and i wouldn't worry about it.

Ya I think its just an ineficient old engine. I had a really bad dip. But I messed with somthing and it stopped.. I had a Tiny vacuum leak or messed with the cable or somthing.
I did turn the screws on the cable to raise the idle rpm. So when I was idling at about 1800-2200 I had no dip in the rpm/power. I belive its too quick for the computer to compensate for... I'm not worried anymore.
thx for the ideas.
