Here ya go: I have that muffler on my 2000 civic EX and i love it...i have it hooked up to a 2.25 inch catback...and its not too loud...it sounds very crips and tuned...very quiet at idle..but when your driving you will hear it...however driving on the highway it won't be loud and droning and annoying...its a sweet muffler..I love it...

P.S...thats not my car..

all exhausts are loud w/o resonator. and sound like bumble bee's -- not worth it

I thought the ES oval made a deep sounding noise?

any exhaust, if you have no resonator, and especially no cat -- with or without it's going to sound like a roar of bumble bees. with resonator and cat it'll sound very nice with the ES Oval muffler.

they go for $100. http://www.jdmhondaparts.com sells them as well as other shops -- do a search for more shops on who sells them.

It is 99 for the 2.25 inch muffler and 109 for the 2.50 inch muffler from jdmhondaparts....I ordered the 2.5 muffler and it ran me 124 shipped to my front door in 3 days....And yeah..it will be loud if you run no resonator and test pipe no matter what muffler you use..lol....even the Mugen twin loop..lol..its quiet..but damn when you punch it..sounds like one angry bumble bee....still sounds good though..hehe....But yeah...mine sounds fine...not too lound...and not really quiet...just a good sounding exhaust..that won't annoy you when you cruise on the highway or street...

I had the ES when I had a CX motor, then B16 with 60mm piping (no resonator/high flow cat), and then with a test pipe. It still wasn't that loud, just deep. But when I had the test pipe in, it started to have a very quiet buzz, something you would only hear from the outside, wasn't really noticeable. The ES oval sounds more like an intake.....its deep, but not really exhaust deep.

honda-tech is so cool like that. all my honda questions are answered here and i always get great feed-back i have one more question about the es oval since my mind is set on getting it. right now i have a tanabe r.m. and its 2.5 from the cat back. if i were to get the es oval in 2.25, would i be losing perfomance? i have type-r internals and manifold and a little bit of fuel upgrades...

Actually that red coupe is my old Si. I sold the custom catback to "Mike P" ...the one who posted his pictures above...so thats the same exact muffler. I loved it when I had it...I couldn't be any happier. It was loud only when I needed it to be loud...and fairly quiet every other time.

I ES oval is a nice muffler the only thing that could be improved on is the construction they should get rid of the crimped design and go weld like a Magnaflow.
