Default 98 Vtce head on a 93 block

Would it be possible to mount the head on to my block.. Again it's a 98 VTEC head .On a 93 block

The newer the head the better the flow

as long as it's going from H22 to H22 that'll be fine. Just make sure you get the right head gasket to match the block.

the difference is because 93 is closed deck and 98 is open deck. there is something that is different to make it seal w/the block, but i think there is a way you can still do it.

The head should fit fine. The only thing that you would have to worry about would be the head gasket.

i think it should work.. but some mods might be needed... we used a 97 h22a head on a 92 h23a block... we used the 97 head gasket

You are supposed to use the Head gasket for whichever block you are using. The 98 head is identical to the 92-96 prelude vtec head. They are stamped p13. You would just use the 92-96 head gasket for your application. There is no need for modifications at all.

Did they switch to open deck in 96 or 97?
