Hi - I'm trying to track down some improved rear light gaskets for my UKDM DC2 ITR. UK list is £23.80 each for these parts ! I read that someone is making improved spec ones over here so thought I'd take a look, I've dug through a load of pages for info due to the non-working search but haven't hit anything yet. If someone can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful. I've tried looking for stuff to make my own but haven't found anything useful in UK stores

I went to a crafts store and bought 6mm thick craft foam. The piece was too short so I bought two and adhered them together. I used an OEM gasket as a template and cut it out. So far no leaks.

 

Cool. I did some phoning around today and found a local (both country, and region!) supplier http://www.rubbertrim.co.uk/ who supplies not only rubber by the length but also specialises in replacement gaskets. He doesn't have a DC2 pattern already (pretty much UK classics only), but stocks 6mm thick 50cm wide rolls which he sells at 1m\£4, or 1m wide at 1m\£6.5 length. Should be just the stuff I recon !! The hardest part of the job is going to be finding the time to get the lights off, gaskets out, cut, and replace without the trunk filling up with rain and snow at the moment

 

I made my gaskets a few days ago and it has been raining since. No leakage.
