Default electric sander for painting wheels?

hey i never see anyone using an electric sander to paint their wheels. i've used the block and it takes forever, i was wondering if anyone has used an electric sander so smooth it out, before painting it?

Probably depends a lot on the shape of the wheel, chances are there are too many details, curves, and lack of large flat surfaces to make any large powertool useful.

I would sand/polish by hand. Electric/air tools mite take off to much material on the rounded edges.
