P/S, and A/C issues concering H22 into 95 Civic Hatchback??
Has anyone managed to install power steering and air conditioning into an H22a powered 1992-1995 Civic?
I have a friend who is looking into doing this swap but wants to keep both of these features operational.
Thanks,
Mark

im pretty sure it doesnt fit.

power steering however, would be a completely custom mount up...and it has been done. are you good with fabrication?
anyone know HCP's website? I have a friend who is very good at fabrication, so maybe he can be the candidate to get it done. Nice to know that the a/c bracket is available.
Thanks for the info.

i see so you can fit P/S. What about A/C. The issue here is fitting both. Is it possible with the Hasport kit? Also what is required to fit P/S with the Hasport kit.

They make A/C mount kits for H22A Civics
Power steering works with the Hasport mount kit.

Not sure about p/s, but I know for a fact that A/C can be done. The owner of the shop that did the swap on my car has A/C on his H22-EG.
I have PS in my 94 civ EX coupe. Soon to have AC. You just have to trim the rad suport to clear the pully. I also had to make a custom PS line. I just cut my old line (metal part by the pump) and welded the lude one in its place.

you for it.thanks
why the hell do you need power steering in a hybrid hatchback. even with an h22, the EG weighs no more than 2700lbs...
If you have a Hasport kit, use the Prelude PS pump, it just slightly interferes with the core support near the headlamp. About 3 minutes with a die grinder fixes the problem. As someone else mentioned a custom hose is needed. We usually just braze the end of the Prelude PS hose onto the Civic hose. The reason it doesn't work with other kits is because the engine sits too far to the left and the pulley for the PS is under the framerail.
As for AC, I have seen it done with our kit using the stock Prelude compressor and bracket. Custom hoses were made and they dented the core support so that the compressor clutch would clear. I would bet you could use the HCP compressor bracket with stock Civic compressor too. We will offer a compressor bracket next summer. We do not offer one yet, because we are in the process of switching to a casting to bring the price down on the B-series as well as the new F and H-series compressor brackets.

I got a question for you brian. Why hasn't hasport made any mount kits for 6th gen civics? I really want to do an h22 swap and it seems that i would probably be able to fit P/S and A/C if i had a 5th gen with the hasport mount kit but i own a 6th gen. Does this mean i am just SOUL? I know that the A/C mount by hcp will work on 6th gens as well but i don't know if it moves the engines to far like you say in the 6th gens for P/S to fit.

Call September 1st and ask for it then. The pics should be on the web page by then also. It will be billet aluminum of course and will not use the stock drivers-side mount. It is a real nice looking kit.
We got momently distracted with our 7th gen stuff, because we were offered the cover of a couple magazines with our project cars.

Oh yeah, PS will work with that kit too. There will be an install article in a magazine some time after the first of the year.

awesome. So basically what you are saying full P/S and A/C is possible in 5th and 6th gen civics with minor modification (little bit of grinding and reflaring a few lines) if the hasport kit is used? Thanks.
