New suspension in the works...need ideas
Here's the deal, the car is resting on 15s right now with bad rear hubs. So I want to make sure it doesn't happen again. I've got some rear discs off a 99si, and I'm going to get some Konig Heliums (16s). But here's where I can't make up my mind...I've always wanted tokico illuminas, and a good lowering spring, but I can't make up my mind. The car is slammed, tires are almost tucking. I just want a good ride, nice look without screwing up the hubs again.
I got some camber adjusters waiting to go on...but I'm trying to make my 1000 go as far as I can.
Any ideas would be great.

You're right. I've gotten so used to just saying "hubs," that's what I've been calling them. But yes, the wheel bearings are bad on both sides and I assumed (hopefully correctly) that with a combination of upgrading to rear discs, an inch larger rims, new shocks and springs that aren't as low as what I have on now, and some adjustable camber kits for the front and rear, I'd be able to fix the problem and keep it from happening again.
Just replace the hub/bearing assemblies. There's no need to do anything else. None of that other stuff will cause or prevent premature wheel bearing failure.
What are the bearing assemblies? I have two replacements out of a junked 4door. They look like a bowl with (tada!) bearings in the center. Is that what you're talking about?

But I would suggesting selling those camber kits, as they're not needed. Put the money towards something like a rear sway bar that will actually improve handling. Removing negative camber only detracts from the car's handling abilities, and neither causes nor prevents tire wear. The alignment with toe adjustment is what does that. So unless you're dialing in more negative camber for racing purposes, the adjustable camber kits are just a waste of money.
I figured the reason why they went bad was because the car was dropped so low. I'm attempting to bring the car back up a little higher. I bought the camber kit so in the event I dropped it again or kept it as low as it is I could use them to bring the rear camber back more in line with O.E.
Oh, and I googled "rear wheel bearing" and I got what I have in my garage right now, for some reason the junkyard gave me the hubs with the rear drums attached. I was confused. My bad.
