civic sedan 2009 1.6L engine need advices for engine
hello honda lovers i need some advices for my honda.I got 1598 cc, 125 ps, 152nm, i-vtec petrol engine honda civic sedan.I want to do some mods but i dont have any experience about honda engines.I want to increase some power. My car is stock for now. What mods can be done on this engine.I'm really unexperienced about mods , need advices , thanks a lot.
ah im from turkey but i had a holiday in florida two years ago.I live in turkey now.Sorry i should have write my country first. My name is john by the way.
John, not your traditional name in Turkey.
I am sad to say that there aren't any really good parts for the 1.8 model so the 1.6 is going to be even worse, especially since the major markets are West Europe, Asia, North America.
You either are going to have to make something custom, swap the engine, or buy something else.
Bismillah, Best of luck!

Trending Topics
Dear Can I have been to Turkey several times (to Adana,Incirlik, the U.S airbase),
Iam actually half Turkish myself (Timur)!
Anyway back to the topic, your vehicle will not respond very well to almost any modification, it was simply not made with performance in mind and requires too much to make it even worth it!
the displacement is small, the car is heavy, the gears are long etc!
I highly recommend staying away from any modification what so ever before you toss away money for no reason!
besides a car with an intake, exhaust is going to be loud, a car thats loud and slow is going to be lame(like the Turkish-tofas sahin just a joke!I love them)
Please Dont play with the engine,if power is an issue step up a notch and buy a TSX or the Euro Accord sold in Turkey 2.4 190Hp good looks cant go wrong!
as for the car and engine specs your chasis is a fd4(made foremostly for the singapore market) it has an 1.6 engine with a r16a code,
the only difference between the american market r18 is the stroke, thats by a 7mm longer stroke, you can simply buy an american r18 off a scrapyard in the U.S and swap it, you can also buy the shortblock(if you can find one) and a r18 timing belt and just replace bottom ends! both will get you an extra 200cc,15hp,23nm torque= 1.8lt 140hp, 174nm torque,
if you do end up searching for an replacement engine to swap look at car-part.com first
search for 2007-2009 civic engines and you will find lots of engines available from 4000-500 dollars and 1000km to 60000km the cheapest is marked with a star at the bottom or in your case the 7th page!
hope all this helps, kendinize iyi bakin!

nice to meet you timur , i thought everyone foreign in this forum but im really suprised you are half turkish and visited turkey before
i think you are right about tofas sahin
they are really slow with stock engines. They are just loud and uncomfortable cars, thats not a joke. But tofaş brand is really really cheap in turkey.
i understand what you are trying to tell me and i decide to drive my car stock for now
because thats brand new i bought it 3 months ago and thanks for the link.
Teşekkür ederim timur sende kenine iyi bak. These words you wrote , really gave me better ideas about my car. Thanks a lot.

Intake & Exhaust should get you started pretty good. I believe Weapon R makes a header for your car. If you google it I'm sure you could find a dealer. Browse around the site I gave you as a link. They have alot of stuff.
i wouldn't waste money upgrading that engine, you're going to spend a lot of money for a very small difference in power. like someone said if you want more power get a different car. i'd just focus on suspension and looks.
turbocharger??

good catch, yeah i was thinking of the old vtec head in the non vtec block. the quest for more HP.but seriously anybody tried a SOHC-to-DOHC swap yet in the honda world??just curious if there's a difference in the cyl. head bolt pattern, or is it entirely different block??
