I have just ordered the service manual for my "new" 2004 MDX. It should arrive in about 10 days. The owner's manual I ordered should arrive at the same time. I drove it almost 1500 miles from Florida to Oklahoma City a couple of days ago and I would really like to change the oil today if possible, I am not sure when it was changed last, but it is pretty dark. My only problem is that I do not know how much to put in after I empty it. I tried to search online, but could only find things like towing capacity and seating capacity. I looked under the hood in hopes that there would be a sticker with this information to no avail. I did find that the 2005 model holds 5.3 quarts, which was an increase, but no information on the 2004. Does anyone here know how much oil I need to buy? Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Since you're going to be purchasing 5 quarts, I would put in 4.5 and go from there. Drive the car around, turn it off and let it cool off for a few minutes. Check your dipstick and see if you need to add more.
