Default Boosted DC5 Questions

Ok soo my friend purchased an RSX with a Greddy turbo kit already installed about a year ago and now he is planning to get it tuned again by the great folks at Speedfactory. I asked him if he's running garbage greddy emanage (blue box) because he wouldn't be able to get it tuned if so, and he didn't know so i checked and he is not running on emanage.

My question is, what could he be tuned on? Is Kpro the only ecu chipping/tuning base the only one you guys can use on your K-series rather than crome, etc? Thanks for any feedback

correct, its pretty much Hondata K-pro or a reflash or nothing. And with a turbo setup it better not be just a reflash lol

AH, I DONT THINK SO, Hondata is not the only one out there and with a turbo set up you cant obviously reflash, there is the HKS F-CON Pro 5 or F-CON iS, and im pretty sure Greddy's e-manage Ultimate can handle a turbo tune, or maybe AEM's EMS but im not to sure about AEM stuff ... Hondata is NOT the only tuning out there for k-series nor is it always the best, we may have seen plenty of great results and history does prove K-pro works, some may have a different taste especially those going FI ...

Speed Factory is a good place to go. I had a friend that had his Boosted Type-S tuned there and he made 309whp on 9psi. They really work good deals on tuning, I think they even have a special going right now for $250 or $350 for a complete tune regardless of how many hours it takes. James knows alot, especially about tuning, but he can act like a know it all sometimes so don't let him punk you. Do make sure you know what you're talking about if you correct him though haha.

He is rite Paz. As kpro is yhe most common solution for tuning needs there are other systems u can use to tune the k series motor. Good info!!!

What experience do you have with Emanage that makes you think its garbage? Hmm I'm guessing none and it's what you've read online? Stop talking trash.

I HATE when people bash E-manage, it's a very capable software...I had it on my turbo Integra and it ran/drove like stock. Only thing I didn't care for was the inability to tune for part-throttle boost.

My roommate had some legitimate garbage "black box" that came with a supercharger kit for his 3g Eclipse (basically a reflash) and he blew his motor. Rebuilt it, switched to E-manage (per my recommendation) and made 300whp on 7psi.

What do you think most people are using to tune the new FG Civics with? Ummm YEAH Greddy E-manage because Kpro isn't available yet for the DBW systems..

Thanks for playing, now STFU.
