Default Wheel size for 94 DX

Hi,

For a 94 LX my manual says the wheel size is "14 x 5 J". What does the J stand for?

I went through tirerack and when I put in a quote for 1994 Accord Sedan, I get rims for 14 X 6.

BTW. I am looking at getting some used winter rims and tires. Scouring the net I usually see ads for "4 X 114.3" that fit the 94 Accord. What should I be looking for?

Thanks

the j is for the shape of tire bead profile. dont worry bout it when looking for wheels. arent accords 4x100 like all other 4 lug hondas? u could find universal 4 lug wheels which have 8 holes, 1 set 4x100 and the other 4x114. dont go over a 16in rim.

14x6 would be an acceptable substitution for the 14x5 OEM rims you now have. The J stands for the wheel style.
If you're in the market for rims anyway, I might suggest this.

Use the 14x5's you have now and put a set of 195/75x14 M&S tires on it for your winter rubbers.
Purchase a set of 15x6.5's for your driving set for the rest of the year and select a set of tires to go along with them.

Hey Paul,

Good suggestion. However, the current all-season tires on the OEM 14X5 rims are in good shape.

I was just going to get a set of winters from Craigslist. Any idea if I should look for 4 X 114.3 or 4 X 100. How do you decipher these number? The 4 is 4 lugnutts. What is the 114.3?

Thanks

It is the center/center measurement between opposing lug studs
114.3mm represents 4.5" after conversion.
The earlier Accords shared the 100mm bolt pattern with the Civic
They changed to 114.3mm in 1990.
the x4 refers to the the number of retaining lugs.
