Failed smog check!
I need to get my 1996 Civic EX to pass smog for registration and to sell it!
It failed with high nox at 15mph test but passed on the 25mph test.
What can I do to help lower NOX?

where is your timing? do you think there may be excessive carbon on your pistons?
nox is related to higher than normal cyl temps. the egr is designed to lower nox, but your 96 ex doesnt have an egr. so you need to look elsewhere.
