I was wondering, does the Cat on my car function like any other? (Accord 1999 V6) Does it function the same?

Should I give a damn? What do you think someone that doesn't have to deal with emissions should do when it comes to the cat?

i still would run it imo cuz in south carolina there are no emmission laws either. what im sayin is its up to you. without it i think your exhaust will be louder. its all about personal preference. i have went without a cat in the past but i just didnt care for it much. i like it better with a cat but thats just me.

I got a punched cat (no emissions here but if you get inspected you can get fined) and even though I run a mostly stock exhaust setup she still has a bit of a zip to it...not as tuned as a full exhaust but dang does it sound pretty good...

It is the same as everyone elses.
Leave it there for right now. I believe I saw legislation pending from the tree-huggers in the Obama Administration which will allow states to inpliment California Emmisions standards. If that should pass.... does the word Gestapo mean anything to you?
Just your luck you'd sh*t-can the converter and three weeks later the State of Florida enacts this legistration.......

if you take the cat converter off, it speeds up global warming and we all die quicker...

plus the gain of a test pipe over a cat is only like 1 hp so not worth it IMHO

The California Air Resourses Board (CARB) would set up the van in front of your driveway.
"The Arnold" hisself would come forth and smite your ride; and Nancy Palosi would tax your A*s back to the stone age, to fund Harbor Seal refuges

It would not be pretty.

P, I am definately LMFAO at that...which is really bad cause I'm in a library right now

Hammer: yes, you can, although I'd have to get an aftermarket muffler and my ceramics on to do it

Steveo: She's not a vtec (one day...I hope) but she sure sounds good coming down off of a 5500 rpm shift...I'm afraid that I'm gonna screw it up by finishing out the setup though...and the reason why I didn't run a test pipe even with no emissions, and I should have clarified this earlier, that a cop can look under your car if it's too loud and if there's no cat it's about 400 big ones...nothing they can do if they can't explain it...

and if anyone's planning on doing this to theirs, I recommend at least a paint mask or oxygen mask...honeycomb's a highly carcinogenic substance, and I might just die of lung cancer in 10 years...
