I have a 1985 Honda Accord and my wiper motor only runs on high,& it will stop were ever, as soon as I turn the wiper off. and will not return to the park location. The wiper motor that was on the car just locked up & I changed it with one from a scrappyard and it does the same thing.
Can anyone help me

 

I would check your switch, if the "new" motor does the same thing the problem has to be the switch or possibly wiring.94

 

OK How do I check the switch and or change the switch?

 

to check the switch you will need a multimeter and a wiring diagram.

Not sure how to change it, but it probably requires removing the steering wheel, on most, [but not all] Honda/Acura the head light, signal lights, and wipers are all in one, "Combination Light Switch". 94

 

I was talking to some one and they said that there are two diffrent models .one you have to pull the steering wheel and a hole bunch of other stuff ( he said it will be easier to just change the hole colum),the other you have to take the cover off the colum and the switch will come apart. I don't know which one I have .

 

its not that bad to pull the switch out....easier to change the column,wtf? that thing doesnt even have airbags

You will have to pull the steering wheel, the wiper switch is part of the "Combination Light Switch"...

I thank all of you for the replies that you gave on this blog this has been some good info. I looked on some diffrent auto parts web pages and the most commonl cost for the switch is around $190.00 . I don't know what a scrapp yard would charge but I'll find out tomorrow.
