Default is this jdm h22a worth buying?

my friend has a jdm h22a and lsd tranny for sale. the tranny is good but he said the motor is toast. i guess the valves went through the pistons and ****ed everything up and there are some pretty tough scratches in the cylinder wall. i am new to hondas, been mostly a chevy guy til recently and my friend ( a honda guru in most eyes) said he will help me build a motor if i can find one. i just figure if im going to get it sleeved the scratches wont even matter right? thanks guys

well he said if i bought the tranny he would basically give me the motor. i guess the real question is, is the motor salvageable. price wasnt really the issue. i just thought that if i sleeved it, then the cylinder wall scratches wouldnt even matter right? i was going to get the head rebuilt and all forged internals anyways.

Well then the question is how much for the tranny, and if your willing to pay that price for the transmission then grab the engine. 94
