Default secondary butterfly control in a EF?

well yea we have obd-0 no option for using the DC2- Ecu's....

What are my options in controlling the Secondary's? I do beileve that I read that hondata does not have secondary control and the AEM EMS is not avalable for our series of ECU...

So what to do? Any help would be great.

I think most people buy a skunk2 intake manifold, it eliminates the butterflies and it is pretty much exactly like the type r one but cheaper

Yea, I didnt really want to go that route, I like the mid punch of the b18c. So I would like to use the it, but if its to much of a hassle then Ill just do a b16a head and b18c1 combo and use the sk2 manifold. Does anyone know Aprox what the CR on a b16a/b18c combo is, Im sure it will lower it a bit since the head is shorter and the combustion chamber is different. Ive been away from honda for a while so I gotta play catch up.

Why not just get a skunk2 manifold for a B18C?

Or convert to OBD1.

Either of those would be cheaper than a B16 head and Skunk 2 manifold.

GSR head is better anyway. If you want to make the mistake of getting a B16 head, feel free to trade me for mine, and I'll put the skunk mani on the p72 head.

Uh.. I've always heard the b16 head flows better then the gsr.. but hey.. I could be wrong.

If you want to know compression ratio's for B-series frankinstiens. Here you go. But my opinion is they are a little low on the #'s. Cause putting in ITR and CTR pistons the #'s don't match what some other tunners say. http://www.bojangs.com/calculator/

rice classic....

It's been said more than a few times (maybe not in this forum) that the p72 head is taller and the combustion chambers have a better quench area, stock for stock. And with a comparable intake manifold on the p72, certain setups have seen more hp with a stock GSR head than with a stock R head. One person in particular that I remember saying this is Brian G. of Hasport. I'm not a head expert (like my g/f is), but it seems to make sense. Like I said, I'll gladly trade bare head for bare head.

Hola

The only reason I mentioned that I would go ahead and drop the b16a head on there is because

A: I have the head
B: I Will be going turbo so the CR drop will be nice.

How does one go about converting to obd1?

I would love to convert to obd1 and use the AEM EMS that would be gravy.
