need help with e55 bi-xenon retro into DC
hey i just finished retro-fitting a set of e55 bi-xenon projectors into my 95 integra headlights. i even wired up the bi-xenon solenoids onto a seperate switch so i can flip them on whenver i want instead of wiring them up to my stock highbeam plugs. anyway one thing that bothers me is this little metal braided wire with a butt connector that is on each reflector cup. is there any specific function for this wire other than the fact that it obviously goes to ground? i dont have it grounded right now, just dangling there. do i need to have it connected or should i just leave it alone? btw my HIDs work just fine with and without it. i really see no difference when i ground the wires.
ok now look in the first picture right above your thumb. that little tab thats folded down is where my braided wire is connected with a butt connector. in my pics i just pulled the rubber cap on the connector back so you can see it better.

oh well, I wouldn't worry about it. My retrofit has been in my car for 5 years now and I've never had a problem. I would just pull the wire off and fold back the tab like how it is on my projectors.
what i ended up doing was grounding it to the rad support with a loop connector. it actually looks pretty cool when i open the hood and you see a shiny ground wire coming out of the headlight housing.
