Well, if Honda part numbers are any indication; it breaks down this way.
90-93 Accord Automatics
94-97 Accord Automatics
They all fit the F22 family of engines.

From this you can infer that any transmission from '94 thru '97 will fit (and plug in) without incident.
Most likely the '90-'93 series will fit as well, but there may be reason (other than a part number supersession) why the case PN# changed.

The differences in Model number (MPZA etc and others) refer to final drive and internal gear ratio's (If any).

There is no such thing as a non VTEC or VTEC automatic transmission. All of the 5th gen automatic gearboxes have the same gear ratios. It's the TCM that determines the shift points.

94-97 F22B1 & 2 AT gear ratios

1st - 2.736
2nd - 1.484
3rd - 1.026
4th - 0.674
Reverse - 2.047
Final Reduction - 4.133

90-93 F22A1
1st - 2.7.5
2nd - 1.482
3rd - 1.028
4th - 0.707
Reverse - 2.047
Final Reduction Gear - 4.285

The H22 may fit, but I believe it has steeper gearing and final drive ratio.
Good for acceleration, but hidious for highway cruising.

^x2

IIRC you would have to get the Prelude TCM to go with the H22 trans. I'm pretty sure that the H22 trans would work like pooh with an Accord TCM.

If you do look into an H trans, add these to the A/T gearing list above.

H22A1
1st - 2.528
2nd - 1.427
3rd - 0.976
4th- 0.653
Reverse - 1.863
Final Reduction Gear - 4.785

H23A1
1st - 2.705
2nd - 1.535
3rd - 1.057
4th- 0.750
Reverse - 2.047
Final Reduction Gear - 4.428

Verbatim from the Honda shop manuals that I own.

I only have manuals for the following: (+ toss in a pinch of EDM & JDM info)
88-00 Civic
93-01 Prelude
90-97 Accord
