what trans' can i use in my car?
its a 95 accord EX VTEC automatic. i know that other year trannys can be used but i dont know what needs to be modded to make them work. i heard i had to change TCMs for certain years. can someone tell me exactly what trannys will fit with what mods, since searching is disabled?

94-97 Accord Automatics
They all fit the F22 family of engines.
From this you can infer that any transmission from '94 thru '97 will fit (and plug in) without incident.
Most likely the '90-'93 series will fit as well, but there may be reason (other than a part number supersession) why the case PN# changed.
The differences in Model number (MPZA etc and others) refer to final drive and internal gear ratio's (If any).

ok....so now i gotta find somewhere that has the differant gear ratios so i can see if a non-vtec trans will be worth it, or if ill never see vtec. no one posts specs on auto trannys.
There is no such thing as a non VTEC or VTEC automatic transmission. All of the 5th gen automatic gearboxes have the same gear ratios. It's the TCM that determines the shift points.

IIRC you would have to get the Prelude TCM to go with the H22 trans. I'm pretty sure that the H22 trans would work like pooh with an Accord TCM.
If you do look into an H trans, add these to the A/T gearing list above.
