Default Scott Kelley - SS/EX at NHRA Winternats

Yah, yah... It's a Toyota, but it's still the first pass in the new NHRA SS/EX class for NA FWD cars.

Congrats to Scott and his team.. It may be a weird look to some of the v8 guys but it should get much respect from them at the same time.

scott has that car running pretty consistent -- great to see a good alternative to sport compact events

The class calls for 11.5lbs or more per cu. inch.

Scott is a great driver and has done it for a long time. He knows what he is doing.

Scott says he had to put 150 pounds in the car to make weight. He also said it would be nice to not have to skip meals any more, and he's a pretty small dude to begin with... :-P

Wow
Qualified currently at #64 714K SS/EX Scott Kelley, Anahiem Hills CA, '09 Corolla 9.687 10.20 -0.513

Top 26 in the class are all at least 1 under the index... getting a 9.2 is going to be tough
Looks like Comp still offers a better chance of qualifying

Good luck Jr and Sr!!! Wish I was at Winternationals this year, can't be traveling as much this year... sucks!

i think he still will get a trophy for the SS/EX class, since he's probably the only one.

When I talked to him yesterday, I seem to remember him saying he was running methanol, and said something to the effect of he wished that the class was gas-only to get more people involved. I might have misunderstood, though. There was a lot going on...

Thanks Scott for showing up again and showing the S/C classes being used. It's great to see you guys out there

Hope to join you soon! Good luck!!

As for the rules and index, I'm sure there will be adjustments and different needs as different people show up to other races and such. So long as the class is being used they will be more entitled to play around with things.
