earl makes a bulkhead connector just get that. you drill a hole and place it in the hole and put the nut on the back side. so easy.

i got a brass fitting for my pan. any ideas on how to keep it leak free? i was thinking that i can just get a nut on the other side inside of the pan and just put some silicone gasket sealant on the threads. is this a bad idea?

well my only concern would be that if some of that silicone were to break loose and go into the pan and then get sucked up the sump, it may clog it, but if you use a liberal amount, im sure it would be fine

what are some good ways to get the brass fitting on to the pan for a leak-free job?

I dont see why any muffler shop wouldnt do it. Its not like they're messing with the cat or something.

Or you could weld the piece in, instead of using silicone. Almost any body shop will have a welder that you could pay them to do it for you.

You dont weld brass to steel, you can braze it....it's basically like soldering...it is soldering actually.
