Default Thoughts on how to secure my car from thieves

Okay i am freekin out from reading all these horror stories of cars getting stolen and i really don't want to ever have to post that my car was stolen... That being said what do you guys recommend as far as kill switches, alarms, and this ravelco thing i have seen on the web. It seems like that is just a combination of kill switches, does anyone have experience with that. I don't want to waste money on things that won't work what do you guys recommmend for securing my car, im sure this has been covered before but like everyone says the search feature is awful.

kill switches and alarms are the way to go.. they broke into my baby about a month ago and tried to steal it.. they broke my ignition and tried to start it and they couldnt get it started (because of my cut off switch) so instead they stole my f#ckin sparco seats.. and a few parts i had laying inside the car along with my deck...

def. get a good alarm, kill switches (ignition and fuel), pull ur ecu out at night, clutch lock, removable steering wheel WITH A LOCK.. so many peep have removable steering wheels anyone can just put there wheel on ur car

Where do you live...? My best recommendation for people is to move out of the freaking ghetto... Instead of spending so much money on your car save up to rent or buy in a nicer area, it is a much more sound plan than kill switches and clutch locks...

the skies the limit.
The more you put into it the harder it is for a thief to take it.

Just bare in mind that they often use flatbeds to jack cars and there's not much you can do to deter a flatbed aside from parking it in your garage.

Be mindfull of where you park it when you out and about.

I wasn't referring to you, I was making a blanket statement about people who live in the ghetto, because the OP didn't state where they lived... I used to live in the ghetto, people got robbed, stabbed, jumped, cars got vandalized and stolen all of the time. Now I live in a nicer area and viola! no more crime. I rarely hear of car theft where I live now and can sleep pretty well at night with my car parked outside... I still have security measures on my car though just in case. You can never be 100% safe, if they want it bad enough they will take it...

That's a horrible attitude to have. Oh well, if they want it, they'll get it. Ok, so save your money and don't even buy a Honda in the first place.

Keep a low profile, don't tell people what you have, secure it and do whatever else you can.

That is not a bad attitude it is a realist attitude... Just look around here at all the cars that have been taken with numerous, well thought out security measures... Thieves are just really determined to steal these cars, and there is only so much you can do to prevent it. This is something you should know when owning a Honda. My car has been stolen before and I know how much it sucks... However, I wouldn't give my Honda up for anything, I love it to death... I am saying living in the inner-city or in a bad area increases the chances of your car getting stolen exponentially.... When I go to the mall I am always worried I am going to walk out and my lip will be gone or something like that...

All you can do is take all of the security measures you can, keep a low profile and be smart about where you park your car. The rest is up to chance...

They have been cut off many times by thieves. It is up to how determined the people are to steal your car. It will definitely delay them but a lot of thieves come prepared for these because a lot of people have these on their cars. Its a good thing to have though.

Buy a shark. Duct tape it to an elephant. World's most dangerous guard animal.

If it has the stay outside. Block the car in at night. I do, I park my eg 3 inches away from garage door in driveway, then park a car behind mine 3 inches away. And then a car on the side of it. SO if they want it, they HAVE to move the one car. Yea sucks having a garage I can't use because it is tiled and turned into a gym with a gas fireplace. Sigh.

Steal a monkey from the zoo, and train it to shoot anyone except you and keep him/her in your trunk. Oh wait, already been done, the trunk monkey.
The video is here, just wait for it to load if you don't see a window.

I pull my EM1 up real close to my garage door, put it in gear, put the E brake up, and lock the steering wheel all the way to one side. It makes it harder to tow it.

But I'm sure if a thief really wanted it, he'd take it. Although, he'd probably be killed trying to do so. By my elephant with a shark taped to the top of it.

Or by me blasting his head off from my bedroom window.

i need an alarm what do you guys recommend, i have heard vipers are good, but what models, there are so many and i don't understand the differences.

i already have a main relay kill switch that is concealed really well, but i think i may add more, as well as a dumby one that is somewhat easy to see so they think they found it. My neighborhood is pretty nice like 500k house, which is alot considering it ohio not cali, but it is only like two miles away from the ghetto so crack heads walk here and break in all the time i caught a guy breakin into my neighbors house once when i was little... lookin back on it i so wish i would have just beat the sh*** out of that guy. I haven't heard of any neighbors cars gettin stolen but most leave them in garages im defintely gonna be blocking mine in. Since are garage is full and we have like six cars. I think i will start takin out the ecu at night. It seems to me like if they came prepared for you not havin an ecu they will probly come prepared for all those expensive locks it will just be one more thing for them to steal.

BTW 90RExx good one why would i send you a paypal payment which tells you my address, i could just send you the keys to my car instead

Nice try Thumper64 but you put the wrong one!

Thats the security you need! lawlz

Like people say, Kill switches and a STEALTH installed alarm. Not just any alarm. Also try some ground anchors if you park it outside!
