Default ****car battery dies overnight!****

So this is the third battery ive been through in the past 2 days. I have made sure none of my light are on and that nothing is drawing power from the battery. I thought it was my battery, so I got it charged and used it to start my car. I drove it around and let it sit for an hour or so, and it still started up. I come out in the morning and its dead, nothing comes on nothing clicks, its like my altenator isnt charging it or someting i dont know about is sucking the battery dry overnight! Can anyone assist on this mystery?

Sounds like maybe a short or something. also check your alternator belt.

to me that doesnt make sence.. if u can start ur car up and then turn it off, go inside for the night and come out nd its dead then something has to b takin power.. if it was ur alternator it would die as ur driving and wat not...

to check and c if its ur alternator, start up the car and pull the negative wire off and see if the car still runs.. if it runs fine then ur alternator is working..

ive heard of a few cars its the cig. lighter takin the power.. just a thought.. this hasnt happend to me but ive read around before.. try unplugging it for a day and see

its not gonna be the cig lighter. Because the cig lighter goes off when u turn off the car. Did you recently put a new stereo in? if they didnt install it right it can cause this problem.

well if you switched it out with another one then the possibility is that the one you just got is bad too. my buddys integra needed a new alternator and bought one and it was bad and took it back and got another bad one and finally got a non defective one.

That makes sence about the altenator. I do have a radar plugged into the cig lighter...But ive had it in for a long time now. I dont see how it would just now start sucking down my battery...

I also have city lights wired up to the ignition/power on the cd player so that way my city lights come on when I turn my car on. Could this be F-inng something up? I never had problems until recently.

Also, its been really cold here in FL...like 30s give or take. Does this affect the battery?

Alternator doesn't make sense in this case.

There must be a short somewhere that it keeping a constant connection going after he tuns off the car. I had a similar issue in my old 91 hatch. (me it was a bad stereo job) I just pulled the fuse for the stereo when I wasn't driving it and all was good. Annoying but good.

I actually just got the battery charged, and it held the charge. used it and my car started right up. Even after driving it for a while and letting it sit for an hour it starts up fine. Its just and over night thing.

check the grounds and the positive battery connector. My ground was loose and it was causing a short. Making the battery drain sometimes (depending on how it had moved).

Ill check my radio, that seems very likely since I have my city light wires going to it.

And ill check the grounds too. Atleast we ruled out that its not the altenator, cause them bitches are expensive.

Same thing happened to me. What was wrong is i had a dead cell in my battery. Test it. Thats probably what it is.
