Need Help Choosing Sway Bars
I'm lookin to get the JDM ITR front and rear sway bar combo for my eh3. Just tryna see what ppl's opinions are. From what I've heard, the front sway bar is 25mm and the rear is 23mm. I don't know if this information is correct. I just wanted to know if this is too thick for a street car and if I should just go for an aftermarket combo that's a lil thinner. Is there any recommendations for sway bars?
It honestly depends what you're doing and what limits you're after. Bigger rear bias swaybar setups will allow for better turn in at the cost of stability. I prefer that setup on FWD cars but it depends on what you're after.
Depending on your motor and tranny it will behave differently. I am running a 26mm up front and a 22 out back thinking they somehow balanced each other out. But it was the opposite when i had the non lsd trans. The car would understeer at the entrance of a corner and oversteer on the way out. I found it kinda weird and fun. Now that I have an LSD, the two extremes are less noticable.
But it all depends on your driving preference. I like oversteer, and will probably change or even remove my front sway bar
PS
theres not too much of a difference between the 22 and 23mm itr bars, so if theres a big price difference, save yourself some money

I'm running a stock gsr motor but thinking of doing a mild build and swappin out the tranny for a US ITR tranny. I like over steer too, so should I just get 22 rear and 23 front? I'm wanna go for a concept of a street car but going to the race course once in awhile. Plus I'm planning on getting a set of Function Form Type 2s or D2s. Thanks for the help fellas. Ima keep in mind what you guys said.
OP, have you considered high spring rates?
Plz stay way from D2's, there has been to many bad reviews on them. As for the FF2's, they are a rep. full coilover but i think the OTS spring rates they offer are still too soft.

a smaller front bar will reduce understeer and promote oversteer. a larger rear bar will enhance this effect, at the cost of stability. couldn't tell you specific sizes, but go off of what you know. if your understeering like crazy, get a smaller front bar, or even remove it. if that doesnt help, then i would go to the rear and see if you can get a bigger rear bar.

sweet. This thread was just what I was looking for. I have a 94 dx and it has no bars at all. I might be going with a set of the suspension tech 19mm front and rear bars. Either that or I have a factory rear bar off an ls teg so I may just toss that on and see what the affects are.
