Sunny day pics + new parts for the R (56k warning)
Today seemed like a nice day to wash the car and I got some stuff for her so decided to take a few pics. My pops just got the new Tundra so I wanted to snap a few pics of it too.

lol. I need to get a new one. I have a spare vc laying around that I might paint, but I'm currently searching for a JDM itr valve cover or a mugen vc
yeah, it's mandatory to trim the fan if you use the stock fan. If you look closely at the first installed picture, you can see where I had to trim the plastic. This is just going to be temporary till my new shortblock arrives with the new radiator/slim fan
I like the design of that header a lot more then the hytech replica. Race header plus a BCIII is not fun. Well not in IL at least because a Cat is a must.
Nice man. Is the header slightly shorter than the 98 spec header? B/C I have a 98 spec on right now, and just ordered a T1R (JDM Length) racing converter with a BC spec 2 exhaust. I have a feeling I would have to modify the racing converter, but I don't want to.

Nice header! Is the length exactly the same as the JDM 4-1? Any fitment issues? Driving impressions compared to the old header?
^ I really dont know. I wish I measured it more so I could help out others with the same question. But when I eyeballed it, it looked very similar in size, but I dont want to give out a 100% sure answer. As for fitment issues, the only one is that you have to trim the stock fan to get the header to clear, but if you have a slim fan, you wont have to worry about clearing the header. And driving impressions, the butt dyno says it feels better top end, but it could be in my head. Others that have done dyno tests show that they did indeed gain power over the itr header, so I'm sure it did do something performance wise

Are you planning on getting the car tuned?
Also when you cut the fan, did you allow for clearence when the motor rocks?
Ugh, I can't wait to get mine. The exterior of your car is beautiful man.

it looks like the flange where it meets up to the cat is opposite of the flange on the itr header. did it come with a special donut gasket or what?
Yes, it did come with a special gasket. It was a gasket that looked like 2 donut gaskets facing each other. kinda facing like this (l) and it just slipped between the header and the testpipe I used
With the Hytech replica, i believe you have to remove the tranny brace for it to clear. This was not the case with this particular header though? Just trimming the fan?
Is your test pipe adjustable? it looks like it is but im not quite sure. Im another person whose trying to figure out if i would need to adjust other parts of my exhaust to fit. Looks like a nice piece tho. Nice car too
ok, to clear a few questions up.
1. i really dont know how the header turned blue. maybe its becuase i used brake cleaner to wipe down the header to remove fingerprints after installation.
2. yes, i did use an adjustable testpipe. its a passwordjdm resonated tespipe, just so it can quiet the exhaust a bit and so that i wouldnt have to modify the catback portion at all.
3. as for the tranny brace, i didnt have to mess with it, but i didnt even think about it at the time, so if its still there, i didnt notice it while installing it. but either way, i didnt notice any clearance issue besides the fan issue.
