suggestions on stearing problem please
ok so my car pulls to the right most of the time. but sometimes if i hit a pot hole it will go away for a bit untill i hit another one (city streets are real bad here). there is considerable amont of play in the steering wheel and a poping noise sometimes when i take a turn. i did the usual and jacked my car up and checked for play. there is none. the bushings are fine and the wheel bearing is good. i can turn my wheel with my hand a decent amount but im not sure if thats normal. but the tire dose not feel shaky in any way. i m not sure if the poping and allignment problems are linked together... i was thinking tie rod ends and hopefully not the steering rack... my car has power steering. any suggestions would be great thanks
Your problem could be a number of things, tie rod, CV Joint, rack and pinion, alignment, tires, sub frame brace (rear cross member). The best thing to do is get under the car and look everything over. The tie rods and CV Joints are easy to check. If the tie rods have too much play they need replacing. If the CV Joint boots are cracked and grease is leaking then they need changing. Take a look at the ball joints as well.
i'll do that my cars about to be tore apart in the next month to have it dropped. and im doing all new ball joints and bushings while its apart. i'll look everything start with those maitnance things and go from there
