Took a little bit of prying to get the crossbrace bolt holes to line up, but nothing hard. You will have to remove all the seats and the rear trim panels to do the job. You'll also have to cut holes in the rear trim panels for the braces. If you're patient, you can probably make it look nice, but I just whacked a big square hole in each one.
I'd been warned that I'd probably have to go back and retighten the bolts in the mounting plates, but haven't had any loosness yet.
do you remember who you got it through and how much you paid? also....it doesnt affect the rear deck does it? How was the handling change?
A lot of people on this site have gotten their AP bars/cages from Ken @ IO Port
( www.ioportracing.com). The AP stuff will not touch the rear deck. Shipping cost is figured out from AP in San Diego, CA to your location.

Jerry, I can't believe I haven't seen your Autopower yet. (I haven't been getting out much lately.
)You don't happen to have any pictures, would you? I'm not interested in stripping out the interior just yet, so I'd like to see how "gruesome" the hacks through the interior side panels are.

Simple - I got it through Ken at IOPort as noted above. I think it was about $375.00 shipped to Virginia. Be aware that the shipping is freight collect, so someone has to be there to receive it and pay the shipper. Ken will explain that in detail. If you have a local shop you deal with, it might be worthwhile to ask them if you can have it shipped there and then repay them the shipping.
No effect on the rear deck. BTW, I notice that, although I got the removable brace and harness bar, they haven't been removed since I put the bar in. This makes the back seat kind of useless, and the rear seat backs won't fold as flat if you need to carry someting large in the trunk.
Hard to quantify handling changes as I made some other mods at the same time, but the car does feel less flexible.
Mike - Yep. You've been hiding out pretty successfully. I had some pictures out on Imagestation, but took them off a few days ago. I'll see if I can find them.
The rear braces attach about half way up the front of the rear wheel well. the holes I cut are about 6" square in the part of the plastic trim that follows the shape of the wheel well, about half way up and a couple of inches in from the edge of the seat. I should be able to fabricate some sort of cover, but since I seldom look at the back seat area, it hasn't seemed that important. If you had a good eye and plenty of patience, you could probably cut holes that would fit the tubing closely, assemble the rear braces through the holes, and then bolt the bar in before you snap the panels back in place. I did not have the patience required.

Are your vehicles street driven? I am under the assumption that running a roll cage in a street driven car would be relatively safe as long as you are using harnesses but I've always been concerned about the chance of getting some pretty nasty head injuries if I was to head butt one of the bars. Dohhh!!
Just curious.

I use the stock seat belt and shoulder harness on the street, leave the Sparco shoulder straps hanging behind the seat, and just clip in the lap belt and sub when I'm auto-xing or at a track day. Strangely enough, most competition harness is not DOT approved for the street.
