All right tech heads make my car faster.
Ok i work at a place witha guy. Now this guy just bought a bright orange 95 hatch back civic for somewhere around 1300, got rims, kit, pipes, tint. pretty nice..but i'm also sure it's cosmetic (sept the pipes) i've got 800$ and a 97 civic EX SOHC. help me spend this 800 to make my car go fast. i'm not mechanic but i can figure most of it out. also for a fist step though
I had a wiring problem recently and pin pointed it after weeks and weeks of taking **** apart, i found it and fixed it. I dry started it a lot (bad for the starter, i know now, didn't then) but the battery is completely dead even when i try and jump it it doesnt start. I can here the relay clicking like nuts when I hold the key in the start position. any ideads there?
as detailed info as possible please on the making my car faster.

my own research takes up too much time, i have two days off a week and during the week when i get off i'm drained. no performance shop in hot springs, arkansas. where can i find a turbo kit at?
for 800 dollars ull need to piece together ur own kit. i would suggest findin a 14b or 13b from a dsm, use dsm injectors, have a custom mani made for cheap, ic piping shouldnt cost much, a used intercooler maybe. that would be a starting point for an uber cheap build.
try this ... not name brand/ not that good of quality but still makes power.....

i would never trust an ebay kit. way too many horror stories even tho there are people without problems. why risk blowing up a motor because of that. even tho we are only talkin about a d series
Pick another hobby then, cars suck hours and hours of time. Don't waste your money on I/H/E just yet. Find a cheap LS swap. The LS swap should keep you entertained long enough to save up more money for a rebuild and turbo.

"Don't waste your money on I/H/E just yet. Find a cheap LS swap." don't know what you are talking about. and it's not my hatch, it's this dude i work with. your high as a kite.
why are you lookin into this for him then especially if u dont have the time
i/h/e is intake header exhaust. a ls swap is a b18 non vtec motor from a integra. swap that in for more tq and hp
i would say just piece together ur own turbo kit like i said before or save ur money for a nice build. you could just do the basic i/h/e but that wont get u really anywhere. ull just have a loud slow turd
well you can get an LS swap i can find a JDM B18B for 850 full swap and thats a good motor my friend has an ls integra with the JDM b18 in it and its pretty quick
my friend bought a turbo kit from ebay and it works fine. he got like 220 whp on a h22.
haha. well with the ls swap wouldn't it just be about the same to buy an integra with a b18, i mean ppl don't just sell their engines if they work. and would putting a b16y8 manifold on my y7 do any good?
dont even bother with the sohc with only 800 and not alot of time..if you dont want to boost the **** out of it then buy a ls like everyone says or you can buy kits like that hatch and look like him.LOL=P
Don't spend a lot of money on an intake, header, and exhaust when you can buy a cheap engine swap. You can get decent power out of your stock engine but you would be better off buying a B series engine. An LS swap can be found rather cheap. I bought mine for less than $800 but I got a great deal.

b-series parts and d-series are interchangeable. b's are dohc and the d's are sohc so right there u have a problem with swapping heads
would this work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...1%7C240%3A1318

There are no SOHC cam b motors. If your motor is stock then it is a d series. Do some research man, we all work and are strapped for time as well... With only $800 your car isn't going to go "fast". I agree with the recommendation for the LS motor. Although with your limited funds, apparent lack of time, and apparent lack of desire to figure things out on your own, I doubt you are going to make anything happen...
You have a lot to learn young one. How old are you... 18.. 19. People sell perfectly working engines all the time. Think of how many wrecked hondas or acuras there are in a junkyard. Say someone plowed into the back of them... that leaves a perfectly working engine in a jacked up car. Guys swap their engines here frequently suited to the needs of their driving and funds. Not everyone can afford a K20..K24.. or B18c5 swap. I suggest using the search function if you don't know what those are, or type it into google. 800 is a small starting point. I would encourage you to do it correctly the first time. If that means waiting and saving up some cash, then do so. You will also have to find time to do the research, or it'll ***k ya in the end. Quick break down on my buddies D series is as follows, fuel pump 100, supercharger 600, injectors 300, msd ignition 100, supercharger rebuild and rotor polishing 60 doing it ourselves, cometic intake gasket 60-100 I forget. Already had the I/H/E. I may be forgetting a few things, but that is a rough estimate. You need the supporting mods to make your car reliably powerful. Your engine type is on the block, next to the tranny. I doubt you have a B series.
