Default B18 ITR and B18 GSR rod question?

Hi all

Just a quick question, does anybody know if there is any difference between the factory conrods used in the Integra B18 ITR (b18c/c5/c6)engine and the B18 GSR-SIR engine (b18c/c1/c4)?? Me and a friend have different engiines and we were thinking that the ITR motor uses a p73 which is a lighter rod and could possibly be a little weaker for boosted power?? Doesnt the GSR use a p72 rod? Please dont flame me if im incorrect?? Im sure i read that the GSR is stronger and more reliable for boosted applications, but cannot remember if its just down to the compression difference etc... used search but no precise conclusion found.

Oh and ideally both will be revved to 8k and on 9psi boost for 300ish whp in case u wondered the useage of engines mentioned. We are just in process of builds etc..

Many thanks as always team, Marc

Both are the same for a boosted application in the same manner, meaning that they can only take up to about 350whp with good tuning. In this case the 2 of you are splitting hairs. If you're going to take apart the engines to prepare for turbocharging, it is simply better to get aftermarket rods that have ARP bolts in them, and save the trouble of swapping OEM parts. While you're at it, get some pistons too.

Summit racing and other places, ship overseas with a pretty low VAT, so you shouldn't have a problem (or excuse) finding them.
