ok i know nothing about cars but my 94 civic keeps on overheating. the coolant keeps on leaking out but theres no puddle under the car! what do i do?

 

You post more info.

What kind of engine? Stock for a 94 EX?
Where is it leaking from? Are all the hoses tight, do they all feel pressurized, no calcination the core?

Give us more info and we'll see what we can do for you dude.

Take pictures if at all possible because that helps a lot.

 

Check your exhaust pipe - is water dripping from there?
How fast is your coolant leaking out?
Open your hood and look for steam and any worn hoses, replace as necessary.

 

there are little hairline cracks at the top of my radiator! all the pressure building up inside is making the liquid come out of the cracks! ****! its a 94 ex 1.6l

 

well if theres cracks im affraid you will have to get a new radiator! there is liquids out there like rad-weld that seal up small leaks but thay dont always work and day dont last for very long so i suggest you get sum sealant stuff for the rad until you get a new 1. and if it still over heats get the thermostat checked.

 

I've never heard of rad weld.... is it the same concept as a jb weld? (2 part epoxy pretty much?)

yes its like a JB weld.
i have cracks in my radiator plastic ( dropped rachet on it ... ) i used seal all. BTW if your loosing ALOT of coolant check your oil. if theres any in the oil, it can be
1) Extremely overfilled
2) looks like pudding (i like pudding what about you)

and to poster about water dripping out of the exhaust, i've seen a brand new car do this. its called condensation.

 

Condensation only happens when the car is first started - not when it's been on long enough to overheat. Engine damage and head gasket leaks can account for overheating and water (accompanied by oil too) in your exhaust.

At least the OP now knows what his problem is. Get an all aluminum radiator if you can afford it. I've never put too much faith into the one's with plastic parts.

 

ok well that's great and all..... figure mine out ... new radiator, water pump, (2nd) thermo, new hoses. I am still overheating, but only periodically. Meaning, i came to work this morning, back into my parking lot and the car started over heating. Went out to lunch at noon, started my car, checked perssure on hoses, checked coolant level. Drove all the way to S.B. 140 miles round trip with no issues, get back to work back my car in, and it starts over heating again. FYI fan works great. same car .. 94 ex 1.6 d16z6.... only thing i can think of is there might be a clog in the system somewhere or the temp switch ??? Thing is problem was gone through the summer after i replaced my water pump, so im stumped !!!

 

So your car only overheats when you back in to park, when you are going slow, or idling?

 

the parking spot makes it over heat

maybe your water pump is failing intermittently. should have a lifetime warranty. exchange it.
