bought this 86 civic off an old lady. she said the rims were on the car when she got it in 1987. i cleaned then up and they are beautiful. i polishind out the lips and they look completely different. there are no markings inside that say what they are. these rims are 13". they look like enkie 92 knockoffs but i cant be sure. can anyone help me identify them? i tried this thread a year ago in the wheel forum but it got no real responses. i figured you crx/ef guys would be able to provide more insight. thanks. i didnt paint them by the way.

weird, i was gonna say enkei 92 or Riken mesh but the valve stem is in a awkward position. They also look like the American Racing mesh wheels.
i got the same wheels when i just bought my crx recently. mine are enkei's for sure. how rare are these wheels? because those look like knockoffs to me. the enkei have a slight diffence.
I had accessory catalogs from 85-87 and there was a very similar style in it, IIRC they were listed for the Accord. The Accords of that era were also 4x100 though.
Untill '86 Mugen wheels were available as dealer options.

is there a list of all oem wheel options for honda's anywhere? a friend of mine has a set of black mesh looking things, and on the inside it says "made for honda motors" or something like that. they are 13's, and actually look pretty bad ***.

man you guys are great. i knew this forum would be more intrested and not flame. my budy was also saying that these might be early accord rims. non the less if these are 22 year old honda rims, that would be sweet. they are mint as far as no curb checks and they look 100x better than shown in the pics since i polished the lips and washed the tires. i will post new pics when i go to storage this saturday. is there a slight chance these could be mugen? im buying a crx just for these rims. lol oh yea. i bought the car with working a/c for 450$. i love old people.

In Portugal those wheels were stock on the 85 Rover 216 Vitesse (200series MK1 shared the chassis with the MK3 civic sedan) so most likely they were also stock or at least a dealer option on the Civic also.

Most dealers would slap on a set of fancy wheels, Honda or not, if the customer requested it and/or the delaer wanted to squeeze some more high margin profit from the popular models.
Mesh wheels are "period correct" as they were very popular back in the '80s. Check to see if they are 13x6, that is a very desireable size. 13x5.5 is pretty common.

these are some of the wheels i found as dealer options around 1986. So im almost sure your rims were a option at some point. I actually saw a car just like yours in LA and it had those same wheels, I noticed it because i thought they were enkei's, but looking back now they were probably not just a similar style option that wasn't honda oem.

GUYSENSEI i thank you very much kind sir for taking the time to find answers for me. i wa kinda pist when they moved this thread to this forum from the crx/ef forum due to less traffic in this forum but what i failed to realize is that the guys/gals in this forum are the truest honda owners on this site and pay attention to the finest details concerning our cars.thanks........
i still dont have a 100% answer but im going to go out on a limb and say that these rims are original dealer option rims. im stoked to find a mint set of 22 year old honda rims. im buying an 86 crx just for these rims. when i do i look forward to posting and learning in this forum.

Well either way regardless I personally like the rims. Whatever they are the rims are old school and they look cool. But if you have a chance post some pics of the the lettering on the back of the rim that way someone might know exactly what they are.

exactly. even if they're not oem i like them alot. they are over 20years old that im sure of. that old lady wouldnt lie. she had no reason to. i have these rims in the storage. i will get pics of the backside but in pretty sure i didnt see any lettering. i will double check.
Those are period correct Enkei wheels. Lots of Honda and Acura dealers added those wheels to add more profit. They were probably cheaper for the dealer than the 'real' Honda accessory mesh wheels shown in the brochure above. Gold mesh wheels were very popular at that time.
