Default Mugen Spoiler

I am in the process of buying a mugen wing and I like the shape of both version one and two. I found two guys locally selling both versions for a pretty good price (authentic ones). But I am currently which one i should go with...and was also wondering about something that sometimes get overlooked.

was the version one spoiler meant for the pre 98 version (jdm) without the hid's etc...and the version two for the 98+???

does anyone here know what year the version two came into production/introduced??

No. Either spoiler (gen1 or 2) will fit any 3rd gen Integra and they both use the stock mounting locations on your trunk lid. Thats half the beauty of using Mugen parts is that they all use existing mounting location with no modifications needed to install.

Gen 2 came out around 98 IIRC and has been discontinued since 2006.

i think it depends on what else is done to you're exterior.. i think the Gen-1 looks great on a stock bodied car,

Gen-2 looks a lot better with aftermarket bumpers. sides, etc.

for me that would be the deciding factor.

Gen 1 is ok, Gen 2 is better looking and better function in my opinion.

Gen 1 looks good with factory lip kit and usdm front, where as the gen 2 looks good with the rest of the Mugen kit and w JDM front. Just my opinion.

Gen 1 is curvy and flows with the car. Gen 2 is more functional, but looks like an afterthought.
<-- Rocks the Gen 1.

To answer the OP's question, the Mugen catalog had the Gen 1 wing on an R-81 SiR with the USDM 94-97 (JDM round eyes) Mugen lip, Mugen side skirts, and MR-5 wheels. The Gen 2 wing was shown on a white ITR with the HID front, MF-10s, Mugen Aero hood, and Mugen sideskirts.
