My New Toy.....
for the JFO wideband O2 setupCame in tuesday, installed yesterday(mostly).
The controller box is built like something government issue. It's all kinds of tough. All the wires/wiring are top notch. Here are some more pics of the install.
Here is the hole where the condenser box sits for the A/C. I've removed the A/C from the car so the condenser is pretty much useless. So I decided to mount the FJO controller in the condenser. With the help of a friend we removed the condenser for the car......
And seperated the condenser assembly from it's plastic shell.
Here is the lower part of the condenser shell, where we'll mount the FJO controller.
A picture of the JFO controller mounted in the condenser shell
The hole where the A/C line ran is where we routed the wires through the firewall. I would have routed the wire through the main harness grommet, however the NTK connector is quite large, so this provided a convienent alternative.
The shell re-assembled and partially mounted in the car
Here is the finished assembly mounted back in the car. All that is left is to wire in the power and it'll be done. I can hide the wires along the consol and no one will ever know it's there....
Thanks to Steve Hayes for the hook-up!
What do you guys think?
I know this might sound like a stupid question...but what the hell is an fjo? Obviously it must be something important because youre hiding it from all those peeping eyes. But the install looks nice and clean...even though i have no idea what it is

Cool install! I'm glad you're happy with it. Just wait until you actually use it! You won't understand how you made it so long without a built-in wideband. :D
BTW, in case anyone wants to get ahold of me, I'll be out of touch until Sunday or Monday, so don't be alarmed if I don't reply to messages until then.

DOHCSIDESI: Dunno, seemed like a good idea at the time. Much like the Zdyne hid under the ECU pan. If someone doesn't no it's there, then they can't steal it. I'll be trying to stealth my guages somewhat now too, just to advoid unwanted attention.......ricers, cops, thieves.
sCeRaXn: It's a wideband o2 controller, with the optional datalogging kit. It lets you read precisely the A/F ratio of your car. Mine will be logged onto the laptop for playback and tuning purposes. You can get a few different monitors that let you eyeball it. I'd rather have it logged to a computer instead of having another guage to watch.
They aren't the cheapest inventment, but like steve said, it's an invaluable tool if you want to really tune your car. Dyno tuning is accurate for getting the max power out of your car @ WOT. But what about the other 85% of your fuel curve? I'm talking about part throttle tuning. A dyno doesn't accurately reflect normal driving conditions, you can tune on a dyno for part throttle but it takes many pulls and hours of dyno time.....costly. Then if you change/uprade something it's back to the dyno to re-dail in your car....

i used FJO's wideband on some supra's.. it kicks ***... real easy to street tune cars with these things, worht the $$$$, what are you using for display? laptop or their little display monitor???
I'm using the laptop as the display, I didn't bother with the LED or VLD because I carry a laptop with me at all times to tune my standalone with so it just made more sence not to spend the extra money
*edit* it's still early, spelling is still off

Damn...beats an autometer AF gauge.
..Does the kit only tell you accurate Air/fuel ratios or can you use it tune fuel maps also? Im assuming you need a feilds fuel controller or VAFC to tune right?
