You're going to have to pull the error codes from the computer that are causing the Check Engine light to stay on. You'll need an OBD-II scan tool.

0Is the car a 5-speed manual? Occasionally after resetting the computer (which occurs when the battery is disconnected), manual transmission Hondas will have trouble holding an idle when coming to a stop if the idle learn procedure isn't completed. This will happen a few times and then eventually stop as the car is driven and the ECU adjusts itself. However, this will not cause the CEL to come on steady, nor will it cause a 3500 RPM rev limit.

sounds like the attack of the faulty cam angle sensor. pull the code(s) and we can go from there.

the plug will either be under the ash tray (pull/pop it out) or somewhere under the dash near the hood release lever.

It's on the driver's side of the center console, right under the dash.

Check the thermostat. Is the car overheating?

On an automatic trans car. When the car is overheating (or think it's overheating), the car will drive fine when moving. Once it stops at the light, it will shut down the engine. But you can start up the car again.

Sometimes when you drop it in D, after starting. The engine will shut down again. Sometimes it won't.

Does this sound like what happened?

Test this out. Turn on the AC to high, and force it to cycle. If it's fine then it's the thermostat.

Idk if this helps but my friend told me to let your car idle for 5 to 10 mins after the ecu is reset so that the pcm can relearn the idle. I did and never had a problem except I bought a crappy never start from wallmart so it died a year later.

Another '01-05 crank sensor strikes.

Thanks for posting the resolution.
