swollen radiator hoses
92 civic si. The fuse for the fan was blown, so I replaced that. The fan works now but both hoses are still ridiculously hot and the upper hose is swollen and hard as a rock. The car isn't over heating though. This problem just started a few days ago. I had a check engine light come on, but for some reason the jumper isn't under the passenger side kick panel and I'm not sure where else it would be.
The check engine light hasn't come on for 2 days now but the hoses are still hot and swollen.

its possible for them to stick closed, but if it was the issue he should be overheating and he isnt. OP also has a talon turbo on it thats oil and water cooled. does anyone know if these turbos been able to cause any coolant issues? im helping the OP fix his car and i to am stumped

they could just be old, especially if the car has been sitting for a while with no coolant flowing through it, it hardens up and when coolant does flow, it cracks it and gets it super spongy, it will pop soon so change it
i've been driving it everyday for the past 2 months with no problem at all.
(edit) what about the radiator cap? could that cause this maybe?

well with how hard the upper hose gets there is no flex, then again, it's also really short. the lower hose feels fine, it's just really hot whereas before it would be cool until you felt closer to the engine.
the lower hose should stay cold until the thermostat is opened that's a great way to test your thermostat is just sit there revein your engine to wait like 5 mins with engine on and check to see if your bottom radiator hose turns hot if so then the thermostat is working correctly.
the lower is suppose to stay cool(or slightly warm) or else the radiator isnt doing its job. also it unlikely the thermostat because his car isnt overheating. we replaced his cap and still no luck.
i do have an overflow tank, but there's next to nothing in it. i did have it between the min and max marks, but then it all disappeared...
flushing the block isnt required maintnance so it hasnt been done on his car. there is a resevoir tank and its usually near empty with no adverse affects. like we said before, no code, fan works, no overheating. just a hard upper hose. i think Shocking is gonna replace the hoses sometime
