Different Brake Pads In Front than Rear?
Its about time to replace my brake pads, and I was just wondering how many people use different brake pads in the Front than rear? Its this safe to do? I remember reading somewhere that our cars mainly use the front brake and the rear brakes are not as involved. So to save money I am planning to get ebc greens in the front, and maybe some oem or autozone pads in the rear. Would this be a good idea? What should I be expecting from this combo? Thanks.

Yes, that's absolutely fine.
I dont know anyone who matches (brand for brand, spec for spec) their front pads to their rear pads.
I'm using Spoon brake pads up front and Autozone in the rear.

If you do HPDE's or auto-X, check out that fourm too. There have been many different combos already tested by people and probably for you aplication

Well to answer your questions, take a look at the size difference between the 2 (front and back) The front ones are much larger and that back ones are much smaller. when your brake the weight is transferd more to the front so its better to have better brakes in the front then the back.
