Default For those with a tein suspension setup...............

I just got my tein suspension kit and i have not recieved my control arms yet and was curious how good the kit really was. I bought it because i heard a few good things and the specs on the HA coils sounded great. Can you tell a difference with typr r control arms? 88 arms? sir arms? I ordered teg type r's and they should be in next week. I plan on ordering my sway bars as well and i will have all 3 neuspeed strut bars, suspension techniques sway bar (front and rear), and the tein suspension kit. I also have a polyurethan bushing kit but it is not installed yet. I was just wondering if anyone had a similar combo, and how good or bad things were with tein instead of eiback or koni or tokico. Any info will be appreciated, i am really anxcious to get my kit on. Also not just handling, how is the ride in daily driving depending on the setting on the shocks.

Thanks,
Matt

I got a set of used Teins a little while ago, and I absolutely love them. I have an 89 EF STD Hatch, and the car is pretty light (1,900 lbs), and the ride is awesome. I have the car dropped about 1.8" all around, and have 16" rims with 40 series rubber, and ITR top shock hats/bushings.

I will be using an OEM 22mm front swaybar, and the S/T 22mm rear bar, but I have not yet installed either one. I also plan on using the E/S bushings.

The ride can be a bit firm at times, mostly when the road is rough, but otherwise I love it. You won't be disapointed.

what do the itr top hats/bushing provide over the crx bushings? Anything different? are they hard to get a hold of? Anymore info you can provide for the teins?

Thanks,
Matt

The bushings for the ITR top hats are super hard rubber. They are much more firm than the Civic/CRX bushings. Almost like upper pillow ball mounts. You can buy them at the dealer.

The shocks I got must be really old. I don't even know what model they are. They are not dampening adjustable, and have no helper springs, but they still work awesome, and don't leak. The collars on them are not like the new ones. Mine are just plain round rings with 4 notches for the wrenches.

Are your E/S bushings red? If they are, you can expect some good squeeking from them, unless you lube them quite often. As far as the durometer (hardness), I would say they are about the same as the OEM ITR ones and they will fit.
