Tranny Issues with Spoon Final Drive/LSD
My 3rd gear synchronizers are wearing again - by this I mean they grind slighty shifting from 2nd to 3rd. It slips right into gear, but with a little noise. This is the 3rd time in a year this has happened, and my tranny guy says that it's because of the final drive or the LSD.
I don't know alot about the mechanics of the transmission - could this be true? He wouldn't charge me for the labor on the tranny, but would charge me for parts. Is this something I should get a 2nd opinion on? Thanks in Advance!

I am replacing mine at the moment, mine also went pretty quick and i don't even have an LSD. I found that I needed a stronger clutch.
The synchros are stock OEMs - it only doesn it above 6800 rpm, so it's just beginning and I may have some time to prevent it. We're going to switch to Redline MTF this weekend to see if we can save a rebuild! Thanks for your responses.
when was the last time you replaced your clutch? I hadthe same problem then I changed the clutch to a 4 puck and it is gone. the pressure plate may be wearing out and it not fully disengauging. just something to consider.
