Default Little needed for my B18C swap

Hello,

Before I posted this topic,I searched for some more information, but I can't find a solution for my problem.

I'm nog bulding for the last 1.5year a full custommade Crx from the year '91.
The stockengine was a B16A2.
Now I bought a B18C engine (JDM Type-R).
I got everything from the engine (the full swap).
I want to build it in my car (this is not the problem),but I got a problem with the wiring.
I called a friend to ask if he could make the wires, but he asked me if I had the transponder and key of the Dc2 from where I bought the engine from.
But I don't,so he told me that the engine never would work without the transponder.
I called the seller of the engine and he told me that I don't have to use the transponder and that you sold over 20swaps this year and never had a problem with the transponder, because the DC2 haven't any transponder at all.
Who do I have to believe?
The seller or my friend/Do I need the transponder of the car or not?

And how am I going to plan this?
The only thing thats left in my car is the original key + contact, but for the rest I haven't any wires left from the Rex(I don't going to use the stock-dash,It's going to be a custommade dash with the S2000 cluster).

I would reverse the wires and use the Ecu,but what Do I need more or what do I have to do to get it run?

Some help from some pro's here!

Already thanks!

Regards
Yves

use your stock crx engine harness, then modify it if required from dpfi to mpfi, run it on obd1 using a jumper harness. if your still concerned contact rywire for a custom harness.

just read that you dont have any harnesses, in that case, get stock harnesses for your car and work your way from there, that way if theres any problems we will be able to offer you advice, or you can get rywire to make you a full harness.

actually if im not mistaken, you only need the typeR key if it's a usdm typeR ecu. i thought that the japanese ecu's didn't have the security on them. or am i thinking k20 typeR?

So I need the key and ignitionswitch of the engine that I bought,an other key and iginition from an other DC2 won't work?
So I have to search a Dc2 where I can have the key+ switch + ECU + that black box (Honda lock) to let it run?

I want to use the Dc2 stockwires,it's silly to buy again the Stock Crx wires and to made it all fit,if I just can use the Dc2 wires and make my way from there (for the dash-cluster).

You only have to use the key with the transponder if you are using the ECU from a US Type R.

Sow the Japanese JDM b18C engine haven't a transponder at all?
Can I let the engine then run with original Crx-key or not?
And if you can,in witch way then? With a harness conversion or...?

I really appreciate your help guys!!

And sorry for the mistakes that I make in my English,it isn't perfect, because I live in belgium (where they speak Dutch)
And that's why,that I have to search some more information,because here aren't there many guy's with swap-knowledge.

you don't need a transponder or any of that...
your best bet overall would be to get the motor in and wired (updated to obd1)
chipped ecu for that motor - such as phearable.net - chipped p28 for instance.

your dutch, it would have been easier if you had found a Si-r and put the type r engine in it. you wouldn't really have to worry to much, just some wiring and injector modifing.

this in saying it's going to be hard for us to help you(most of us live in the U.S.A). only thing i can say for sure is that you're going to have to use your stock harness and make a custom wiring harness. you're going to need a honda book(what ever you can get over there that can give you wiring diagram). you can also cross reference in the FAQ here.

and even if the type r ecu does have the emobolizer, it's just a chip, and if you know how to, you can de solder it out.
